Scholars,
This term, to prepare to write longer essay submissions, online students will record responses in their private online journals. Additionally, Dr. Benson strongly recommends that students keep track of their reading notes in the Notetaking Grid, located in the Course Tools folder on Bb.
Please respond to this prompt for Journal Entry 1:
Prompt: What have you learned about the period of chattel slavery? What would you like to know? What questions do you have about the institution?
Unless otherwise instructed, journal entry submissions should follow the guidelines below:
1) Keep track of the journal entries by numbering them. Doing so will help you reference them later on.
2) Submit Word documents only.
3) Do not number or bullet journal entry points; instead, write only clear prose in standard paragraph form.
4) Double space all typing.
5) Minimum entry length is one page; maximum length is three pages.
6) Type should appear in either Times New Roman OR Calibri 12pt. font.
7) Please use MLA formatting for the heading and citation.
